Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Khalid Almsafir President, The National University of Malaysia – Qatar (UKM-Qatar)

The National University of Malaysia (UKM) established its Qatar campus with a vision to extend Malaysian academic excellence to the Gulf region. Since inception, UKM-Qatar has focused on creating educational pathways that bridge cultural and intellectual traditions between Southeast Asia and the Middle East.

Our campus in Doha represents a unique collaboration between Malaysian higher education heritage and Qatar’s ambitious national development goals. This partnership enriches both academic communities and creates opportunities for cross-cultural research and exchange that benefit students and faculty alike.

The strategic location of UKM-Qatar in Education City places us at the heart of a vibrant academic ecosystem. We collaborate closely with other international branch campuses, sharing insights and building joint initiatives that address regional and global challenges through interdisciplinary approaches and innovative pedagogy.
